The Non-Obvious Nature of Crystals
Native American wisdoms in South, Central and North America bring us a lot of knowledge about crystals, and one of them is that like anything or anyone in nature, they are beings of consciousness.
My opinion is that crystals are very unique beings of consciousness that communicate many different things to different people at different times. This basically means they can act a lot like stem cells and function in many different ways in our lives according to what is needed in the present moment.
That means they are not necessarily restricted to what is said in books or blogs about the spiritual nature of crystals - each person may have a very specific and unique experience with the same crystal or crystal species.
In my experience of 22 years working with them, what I can attest so far is:
1. All crystals, as many Native American cultures tend to agree, bring forth the truth, heal and protect at the same time;
2. In my experience I would also add they all bring forth an energy of love and connect us to the abundance of life;
3. Their healing properties shift and expand with our consciousness, which means their "obvious attributes" such as self love for rose quartz or prosperity for citrines may very well come to us through other crystals because of our very unique and specific energies. So if you need to be stronger in the prosperity area of your life, citrines will of course help you, but other crystals may help you even more if you tune in to them or get information from energy experts that you trust. What that mean is that theory in books are very important but when it comes to crystals, you have to get practical and feel their energy, and the actual experience may not fit in the pre-set models found in books. There are general consensus about crystals but there's a lot more to them than what books say, and the most important thing about them, in my opinion, is your actual and practical relationship with each crystal that comes to your life.
So the healing properties of crystals are usually not obvious, and a lot of research still needs to be done about that. There may be general attributes and aspects and truths about specific crystals, but they are all intrinsically holographic and can act in many different ways according to individual needs and circumstances.
Not to get too technical, in my research their uniqueness has to do with first of all with their geometrical internal structure and their specific hue of color, and secondly, with the way they are polished and shaped and where they are placed in environments or as jewelry or therapeutic stones on our bodies in energy healing sessions.
So the bottom line is - depending on the circumstances and the moment the priority, the way stones act in our lives can change. Our conscious mind tend to want the crystals to behave exactly as the books we read about them tells us they'll behave, but ironically, that is not written in stone at all. Our conscious mind always tries to understand and control everything, including information about crystals, but the truth is - most of life is unfathomable to the conscious mind, as Dr. John Veltheim would say. And crystals have much more to heal in the unconscious level than we can imagine. We can't possibly grasp their depth with the limits of our conscious minds that strictly follows what's written in books.
Also, it's important to know our relationship with crystals is very horizontal. In Native American wisdoms there is no hierarchy or difference in consciousness of truth, healing and protection between human beings, animals, plants and crystals. The Cardinal Method perspective also adds love and abundance to that equation. This is of course a moral concept of belonging to the natural world and should be observed from a moral perspective. Crystals and stones also have their own healing journey and that rarely happens in an obvious way. It's much better - and a lot more fun - to surrender to the divine mystery of life, in which crystals play a huge role, than to try to understand everything with the conscious mind.
All crystals that touch your life have a path and a role and a mission with you and your intuition will guide you in what to do with them and who to give them to and where to place them. The flow of information and energy of the stones is very dynamic and anyone who comes in contact with a crystal is already healing and progressing in their journey to wholeness.
